BODY-LED trauma support
I combine the findings of modern science with ancient wisdom traditions to support trauma recovery without you necessarily having to ‘talk about what happened.’
I offer practical, evidence-based somatic (body- and movement-based) techniques for sustainable recovery and long-term wellbeing.
Tools you can learn to manage the life-limiting impacts of past traumas or chronic stress, rebuild physical confidence, gain greater agency over day-to-day mental-emotional functioning, foster greater adaptability to change and move towards a capacity for more fulfilling relationships.
A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO TRAUMA RECOVERY.
There is a growing evidence base showing that trauma impacts not only thoughts and emotions, but also your body’s physiological stress systems. Your nervous system can become stuck in a heightened ‘survival mode’ that served you very well in the past, but now - long after the original distressing events - may be sabotaging your capacity to live a full and free life.
You may experience a persistent edginess, restlessness or need to constantly be busy doing things, and/or a reduced ability to feel at ease in your own body. These patterns can affect sleep, concentration, relationships and the ability to be present with and enjoy daily life.
You can’t just talk or think your way out of it, but you can retrain your body to feel safe and alive in the present. This is where trauma-sensitive somatic work (postural and movement practices) comes in.
Body-led approaches that directly engage our nervous system have been shown to support recovery by improving interoceptive awareness (the ability to sense and respond appropriately to internal feelings in order to meet our needs), physiological and emotional self-regulation, and mental steadiness. A stronger sense of self-agency and self-leadership becomes accessible.
Unlike traditional talk-based approaches, these methods work through the body rather than requiring verbal processing. When words are too difficult, or revisiting the past is still too overwhelming, this can be a powerful first step.
No gimmicks, gadgets or equipment needed. Just what you walk around with. You can be your own most powerful resource.

WHO I WORK WITH
-

busy Professionals
For business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals in high-pressure roles, the demands can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, constantly ‘on’ and unable to truly switch off. That was my expereince, too. I help you slow down, regulate your nervous system and reconnect with clarity and resilience — so you can lead from a more grounded and authentic place.
-

Veterans & Military Community
I work with current and former members of the armed forces, as well as their families, who are living with the effects of trauma, chronic stress or loss of connection to themselves and others. Together we create a calm, non-judgemental space to help you feel safe in your body again and develop tools you can carry forward into daily life — at your pace and on your terms.
-

People Navigating Trauma & Mental Health Challenges
If you’ve tried therapy, medication, retreats or routines but still feel anxious, depressed, or unable to truly enjoy life, you’re not alone. I work with people who feel like nothing has ‘worked’ yet — helping you build trust in yourself, find calm and create a more grounded sense of who you are, without needing to perform, push or fit into anyone else’s idea of healing.
How I SupporT & THE toolS I USE
Alongside navigating my own challenges, I’ve trained extensively in body-based, trauma-sensitive approaches that I weave together in order to help people feel safe in their own skin — without needing to relive the past.
What I offer combines clinical best practice, ancient wisdom and deep respect for you and your experience — without dogma or judgment. These are the tools that have worked for me.
-
An ancient school of practical psychology emphasising embodied awareness, breath focus, mindfulness and meditation.
-
Designed to help people feel safe in their bodies again, and in fact to re-learn what it is to ‘have a body; developed by Western psychiatrists, trauma experts and yoga teachers working with communities affected by PTSD. Its principles can be overlaid onto any kind of yogic (mindful, embodied) practice.
-
A meditative technique incorporating open, compassionate and non-judgemental noticing of what is in our field of awareness at any given moment, pioneered within Yoga, Buddhism and Daoism.
-
A solely floor based practice that, rather than working or exercising the muscles, invites softening them in order to target energetic release within the deeper, tougher connective tissues – the fascia, ligaments and tendons. Developed in the West over the last half a century, though based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Daoist practice from China.
-
A gentle, floor-based style of practice that emphasises physical and mental relaxation through passive stretching and supported poses. It uses physical supports like blankets, bolsters, cushions and blocks to fully support the body, allowing for a sense of being ‘held’. The practice is designed to calm the nervous system, slow down the heart rate and and access deeper release.
-
Yoga Nidra (‘yogic sleep’) is a guided progressive relaxation practice done lying down that has its roots in ancient Tantric practice but since the mid-20th century has been augmented with Western developed relaxation and psychotherapeutic techniques to support better sleep, better cognitive function or other intentions including pain management, traumatic memory release or creativity and learning. It also incorporates elements similar to a body scan and sometimes visualisation.
