CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY

No information regarding a client will be shared or distributed.

EXCEPTIONS TO CONFIDENTIALITY

Under the following conditions it may be necessary to disclose information pertaining to a client:

  • If in Charlotte’s judgement a client poses a risk of harm to themselves or to others.

  • If a client reports information indicating that a vulnerable person is suffering neglect or abuse.

If appropriate, and only after seeking consent from the client, I may consult with a treating physician, therapist, other care provider, social services or the police.

In some cases Charlotte’s work may take place as part of a wider clinical or therapeutic team. In such cases it may be useful for Charlotte to participate in team meetings, reflective practice / peer support groups and/or supervision sessions.

In these instances references to a client will be anonymised.
